The problem
Why this one exists
Scores travel badly. They arrive as a photograph taken at an angle, as page four of a scan whose first page went missing, as an attachment named after a printer. The information that would identify them — the title, the movement, the edition — is exactly the information that gets lost first.
Everything that tries to help with this starts from the text. It looks for a title, reads the filename, hunts for visible words and offers possible matches based on those clues. When the page has none of them, that approach has nothing left to work with.
Cecilia starts from the music. The notation on the page is the evidence, which is why it still has something to say about a page that has been stripped of every label.
